Chevy's New York Surprise? A 2015 Corvette Z06 Convertible

This takes away the point of the Z06, but what the hell, right?

Here it is: The 2015 Chevrolet C7 Corvette Z06 Convertible, now with more power and less roof. And God dammit, it still looks incredible (in any color, really). With "at least 625 horsepower, and 635 pound-feet of torque," this is the most powerful convertible Chevy has ever put out, and it's also the first Z06 convertible since 1963. And according to the GM company, there was only one that year, and only 199 Z06s total.

So how can a car that powerful still be supported without a roof? Aluminum. The weight is exactly the same as this year's coupe Z06, but this aluminum structuring is 20 percent lighter than the previous model Z06 coupe. So, to recap, it's a gorgeously animalistic open-top track car with an 8-speed automatic. And it'll still probably cost way less than a typical "supercar." Chevy is like, peace to the purists, we're going to make a lot of money with this thing.
