Vacation season is upon us. While this often means that people of means are suddenly upgraded to a much nicer location, it also means that many of these people suddenly find themselves trying to navigate a new city in a lemon. If you're willing to spend a little bit more to have a much cooler car, read on.

We decided to go with the vehicles available from major rental agencies, rather than exotics. Most people aren't able to drop $4,000 on a Lamborghini Aventador any time they please. Due to the fact that availability and prices vary from time to time and city to city, nailing down exact quotes was a bit difficult. Generally, you can anticipate spending around $125 - $150 per day or $500 - $700 per week (via Hertz). You'd be surprised what you can do with a reasonable budget.

These are the 10 Coolest Rental Cars Available Now.

BMW 528i

Agency: Avis, Budget

Complex Says: The BMW 528i is the go to mid-size for the wealthy man for a reason. It may take the general shape of, and provide the utility of, a family car, but it still drives with that BMW sportiness. Also, if you're planning any road-tripping these might be some of the best seats available as a rental.

Fiat 500

Agency: Hertz, Avis

Complex Says: Love it or hate it, there's no more fun car that looks suspiciously like a Dualit Toaster. The Fiat 500 is a fantastic city car with a unique, retro, and ever so Italian style. Even if you wouldn't want to own one, it might be worth having one for the weekend.

Jeep Wrangler

Agency: Hertz, Budget

Complex Says: The Jeep Wrangler has been a go-to vehicle for badasses since it was known as the Willys Jeep. Take on a new persona while you're on vacation. be the kind of man who drives up mountains, wears M65 jackets, and goes bear hunting with nothing more than a tooth-pick.

Mini Cooper S

Agency: Budget

Complex Says: If you're not secure in your own masculinity and you're a jackass, you might knock it as a chick car. However, if you know cars you'll recognize the Mini as a brilliant, fun, practical, and easy to manuver vehicle. It's perfect for a week in a new city. It won't bore you to tears and it will be easy to squeeze into that crappy San Francisco parking space.

Dodge Challenger R/T

Agency: Hertz, Avis

Complex Says: While other agencies might rent Challengers, not all of them rent Challenger R/Ts. All that needs to be said is "hemi for rent."

Shelby GT-H

Agency: Hertz

Complex Says: It's a Shelby Mustang. That makes it one of the coolest things ever made. What you may not know is that Shelby made a black and gold Mustang for Hertz back in 1966 as well. While the GT500 has come a long way since 2006 when this was unveiled, it's still an awesome car. Here's hoping for a new GT-H some time soon.

Mercedes-Benz E350 Convertible

Agency: Hertz

Complex Says: The Mercedes E-class is a sophisticated, comfortable, and fun to drive vehicle. Being a fairly common mid-size sedan, it's also a bit stodgy. The convertible version, on the other hand, makes one think of the word "riviera." It's a perfect vacation car. Spend a little extra money and pretend to be made of money for a weekend.

Tesla Roadster

Agency: Hertz

Complex Says: Most electric cars are uninspiring at best, and downright terrible at worst. The Tesla Roadster, while still subject to many of the flaws of its ilk, is a thourougbred sports car based on the legendary Lotus Elise. This is a seriously sweet rental.

Porsche Panamera

Agency: Hertz

Complex Says: You can rent a Porsche. For less than $300 a day. From a major rental company. What else do we have to tell you to make this sound cool?

Chevrolet Corvette ZHZ

Agency: Hertz

Complex Says: In 2008 Hertz bought 500 specially made Corvettes from GM to add to the company's "fun collection." Although they aren't available with a manual transmission, they're still badass, V8 powered, American sports cars. Like all Hertz special editions, they all come in an awesome look-at-me-I'm-speeding yellow and black. Be sure the factor the speeding ticket into the price.
