Dez Bryant Trolls Cowboys on Twitter During Loss to Panthers

As the Dallas Cowboys were losing in the opening week of the NFL season, embattled former star wide receiver, Dez Bryant, was throwing shade at them on Twitter. After claiming he was done, he just kept going.

For the first time since 2009, Dez Bryant wasn't on a sideline when the NFL season kicked off on its inaugural Sunday. After getting cut by the Dallas Cowboys in April, Bryant got an offer from the Cleveland Browns (because it’s the Browns), and later in the summer, the Baltimore Ravens expressed some interest. Despite the fact he hasn’t secured his bag for the 2018-19 season, Dez spent some time tweeting about how bad the Cowboys looked in their opening 16-8 loss to the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.

It seemed like he would just say his piece for the one time, too:

After today I’m done talking about the cowboys if I try to say something good or a factual it always turned out to be negative plus I don’t want it to seem that’s where I’m focused I know the team well so it’s hard not for me to speak .. all I ever cared about was winning

Except, he wasn't done with the Cowboys shade after the game. When their offensive coordinator refused to comment after Dallas only put up eight points, Dez had an emoji for that:

When a fan said the Cowboys needed Dez and former kicker, Dan Bailey, after current kicker Brett Maher missed a 47-yard kick, lo and behold, Dez agreed with the sentiment:

Bryant wanted people to know he enjoyed watching his former team, even if it read a little like bottled-up bitterness:

It’s kind of cool calling out all of the signals and knowing which route players are about run 😂

He did seem enthusiastic about a change in employers when a Cowboys fan begged him to come back, and mentioned the Pats and Washington as a possible landing place:

Naw I’m ok.. I rather go somewhere I can show case my skills for real.. if I line up next to Gronk hogan Edelman I’m for sure getting a 1 on 1 match up plus I won’t be getting criticized controlled for expressing my love for the game..Washington is cool as well https://t.co/lywVw8QzIa

When a fan called Bryant out for not even being in uniform on opening weekend, he responded:

Trust me brother I’m not begging anyone 😂 https://t.co/XwYgj7rqf2

As mentioned, he did get an offer from the Browns that he turned down, and there was some light flirting with Baltimore as the summer progressed. Dez turns 30 in November, so his brightest days at wide-out are probably in the past, but he's still got talent and hunger to play, so it shouldn't be surprising to see him suit up somewhere else soon. Until then, he's a must follow when the Cowboys play.
