We all know the trials and tribulations of Lotus. We're aware of how recently-axed CEO Dany Bahar rolled into the 2010 Paris Motor Show with a fantastic vision and an ego to match. He tried to turn Lotus into a Ferrari rival. None of the 7 proposed cars ever materialized.
With all that in mind, the news that Lotus has completed work on the concept Esprit—which essentially gave everyone a boner two years ago—comes as a shock. Will the car finally hit the highways? Unlikely. Management issues continue to plague the company and keep thirsty drivers like us from being quenched by a new British sports car.
