Tiki Barber can add "Broadway actor" to his list of accomplishments, as the former Giants running back is set to make his debut in the hit play Kinky Boots.

Donning the iconic red thigh-high boots, Barber appeared on Good Morning America to reveal to his former teammate Michael Strahan that he will be playing the role of Don in the play.

Barber, who will be playing the role for six weeks, will be replacing Daniel Stewart Sherman, who originally held the role. Broadway Buzz reports Sherman will take a hiatus to play another role in the upcoming musical My Very Own British Invasion. The three-time Pro Bowler also released a statement regarding the opportunity, saying he was "very fortunate to be a part of the New York Giants for ten years and I feel incredibly lucky to be joining another New York institution: Broadway."

This will not be the first time acting for Barber, as his roles include appearances on the 2008 reboot of Knight Rider and the Netflix show Orange is the New Black. He will join Eddie George on the list of NFL players that have performed the Broadway stage. His transition from a pro athlete into a different sphere started when he started his CBS Sports Radio show with Brandon Tierny in 2012. Fans of Tiki and Tierneywill be happy to learn that his inclusion in the play will not affect his talk show, as he has committed to do them both.

The winner of six Tony awards and one Grammy award, Kinky Boots features a slew of highly decorated professionals running the production, including Grammy award winning Cyndi Lauper and Tony award winning choreographer Jerry Mitchell. Barber is set to appear in the limited run between Jan. 21, 2019 and Mar. 3, 2019.
