On Friday afternoon, Cleveland Browns cornerback Justin Gilbert was cited for lack of reasonable control after his Dodge Challenger crashed into a drainage ditch in Brunswick, Ohio. The accident was the result of a road rage incident between Gilbert and a 55-year-old Parma man who was driving a Ford Mustang

According to Sgt. Robert Safran, the conflict occurred when one car cut off another on the I-71 in Middleburg Heights. Gilbert and the unknown individual "exchanged middle finger gestures," but their dispute escalated when the Browns defensive back threw a cup with "tobacco juice" out of his window, landing on the other driver's windshield.

The unlucky and obviously upset individual chased Gilbert in his Mustang, on the I-71 until the 23-year-old cornerback lost control and smashed his vehicle into a ditch. Both guys called the police and while Gilbert was slapped with the aforementioned citation, the other driver was cited for disorderly conduct for chasing Gilbert’s Challenger.

The police informed newsnet5.com that both parties involved can waive their citations and not have to appear in court.
