On Sunday, CNN plans on airing The Hunting Ground, a documentary which delves into sexual assault on college campuses across the nation. The doc, which CNN co-produced, features testimonies from a couple of young women, including Erica Kinsman, the woman who accused Jameis Winston of raping her in December 2012.
In a letter sent to CNN through his attorney John Boudet, Winston is threatening to take legal action against the network, if they go ahead and air the documentary.
The Hunting Ground features Kinsman giving her account on what happened the night she claims Jameis sexually assaulted her during his freshman year at Florida State. Since her accusation, FSU and the Tallahasee Police Department went through with an investigation regarding the matter, but didn't take any action against Winston.
Now, both parties are embroiled in a legal battle with Erica suing Winston for sexual battery, assault, false imprisonment and “intentional infliction of emotional distress arising out of forcible rape," while the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback has filed a countersuit against her over defamation and interference with business relationships.
