Yesterday Frank Gore appeared to have a handshake deal with the Philadelphia Eagles, but apparently he was crossing his fingers behind his back because he's instead heading to the Midwest to take hand-offs from Andrew Luck.
According to ESPN, Gore signed the dotted line of a deal worth $8.5 million guaranteed from Indy. That information came courtesy of a man who lives for this time of year:
In Gore, the Colts get themselves a solid running back with a lot of miles on him. The former Miami Hurricane is the all-time leading rusher in the history of the 49ers. In a decade in San Francisco's backfield, Gore has almost 14,000 yards of total offense (more than 11,000 of which are rushing yards). He also has 75 career touchdowns.
Last season, at the age of 31, Gore ran for 1,106 yards on 255 carries (4.3 per rush) but came away with only four scores. It was his lowest rushing total since 2010 when he missed five games due to injury.
