Michael Jordan is better known for his on-court greatness than being charitable, but generosity does pop up in his His Airness' lore. On The Dan Patrick Show, Juwan Howard recounted a story that showed the more humanistic side of MJ.

After putting together an impressive rookie season with the Washington Bullets, Howard wanted to build on this momentum by working out with revered trainer Tim Grover. But Michael Jordan had tapped Grover to come with him to Los Angeles so that he could work out while filming Space Jam. Howard ended up deciding to pack up his things and use his small rookie contract to move to L.A. for the summer.

After getting to L.A., Howard quickly realized he didn't have enough money to stay in a hotel for the whole summer. This was a small thing to a GOAT. Jordan was excited to hear that Howard had come all the way to L.A. to work out. In fact, he was so appreciative of his dedication that he offered him a room in his summer home.

"That was just so nice and kind for MJ to do that. I will never, ever forget that. I got a chance to work out with him the entire summer," Howard said. "MJ is that type of guy. He’ll give you the shirt off his back, but when it comes time to lace up on the court and you’re standing side-by-side and you’re on the opposite team, you better believe he’s going to do whatever it takes to win."

After that summer, Howard had the best season of his career, averaging 22.1 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 4.4 assists.
