Yoenis Cespedes Nailed Another Runner Last Night (Video)

This is not a repeat: Yoenis Cespedes threw out an Angels runner last night with an amazing toss from left field.

The Oakland A’s Yoenis Cespedes unleashed one of the best plays of the year on Tuesday night, nailing the Los Angeles Angels’ Howie Kendrick at the plate with a 300 foot throw from left field. It seems that the Angels learned their lesson, sending out the following tweet after the game:

Ok Cespedes. We get it. You have an arm. #Angels

Except, they didn’t.

With the Angels down 4-1 in the 6th inning and Albert Pujols up, the first baseman lined a single into the left field corner. Much like last night, Cespedes flubbed the initial play, allowing the ball to get away. Maybe he was just playing with Albert, though, trying to bait him into taking an extra base.

If so, it totally worked.

Pujols hit second hard and decided to try to stretch it to three. And, much like last night, Cespedes made the Angels pay:

The Angels, again, made light of the situation on Twitter:

Cespedes, I thought we discussed this already...

Maybe rather than joking about Cespedes, the Angels should have a little pow wow with the team and coaches. Because how could they still be trying to run on this guy? Did they not watch the highlight enough on Sports Center?

Fortunately for the Angels the series is now over, and they’ve got until August 22 to adjust their strategy. That should be enough time…right?
