There are few things more thrilling than the drag strip on race day. However, "cool" can quickly transform into the horrifying if one little thing goes wrong. Although there is absolutely nothing cool about fatal crashes, less-serious scuffles can be pretty incredible to witness. If you watched this video with the sound on, we apologize. The song is super fruity, but the footage is good. Miraculously, both drivers were fine. Unfortunately for the sport, Gary Scelzi, Top Fuel champion, promptly switched to funny cars after this and never raced Top Fuel again.

This is even more painful watching such an older classic go down, but the slow motion playback gives an awesome breakdown. We would have to agree this was definitely "the ultimate shoebox nightmare."
