Former NFL Player Tyler Sash Dies at the Age of 27

Former NFL player Tyler Sash, who played for the Giants from 2011 through 2013 and helped the team win a Super Bowl in 2012, has died. He was just 27.

According to the Des Moines Register, Sash was found at his home in Iowa by a family member early this morning. The official cause of his death has not been determined but an autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow. Officials have not yet revealed when Sash passed away yet.

Sash was drafted by the Giants in the sixth round of the 2011 NFL Draft after spending three seasons playing for Iowa. He finished with 13 career interceptions in college, and his former head coach Kirk Ferentz postponed a press conference today after hearing of Sash's death. Stay tuned for additional details.
