Do you want your car to get swallowed up by the Pacific Ocean? Nah, right? Then there's one very simple thing that you can do to prevent your ride from ending up in the middle of the water. That thing? Don't park right next to it!
That should sort of go without saying. But on Sunday morning, a couple that was visiting a beach in Lincoln City, Ore. found out what will happen if you pull up right next to the Pacific, put your car into park, and then go for a walk. The couple left their car on a popular stretch of beach in Lincoln City and got out to explore a little bit at around 11:15 a.m. But when they returned to their vehicle, the car was engulfed in waves and partially submerged in the ocean. They were able to get into it briefly to get a few personal items out. But police had to come and call in a track hoe to remove the car from the ocean.
Check out a couple images of the car in the thumbs gallery above. It seems like a ridiculous idea to park that close to the ocean. But believe it or not, this isn't the first time that someone has done it in that area—and our guess is that it won't be the last time, either.
