Florida State football fans are not happy with the way that the media has covered Jameis Winston recently. Even though the reigning Heisman Trophy winner has brought a lot of the negative attention that he has received on himself—and even though he has definitely deserved most of, if not all of the negative coverage—FSU fans are tired of seeing a new Winston controversy every time they turn on the TV. So late last night, a short time after ESPN started reporting on yet another Winston-related scandal, Tomahawk Nation started a #BlameJameis hashtag on Twitter to illustrate how they feel like Winston gets blamed for everything. And it took off immediately.
Since then, #BlameJameis has shot to the top of Twitter's trending topics list. And just about everyone—from Seminoles fans to people who just want someone to blame for something that they're upset about—has gotten in on the action. Some of the suggestions have been a little bit too off-the-wall (stop trying to blame Jameis for Ebola, people!) but others have been worth sharing.
