How much will the NFL suspend a player for kicking a punter in the face? Prior to this week, we didn't know the answer to that question. Because while NFL players have disrespected punters in all kinds of ways in the past, we had never seen one kick a punter in the face like Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown did to Browns punter Spencer Lanning on Sunday. It looked like this:
Brown was flagged on the play for unnecessary roughness and the thought was that the NFL might fine him, too. And last night, the league announced that they will be fining Brown about $8,200 for the kick to Lanning's head. If you remember, it's the same fine Peyton Manning received during the preseason for picking up the first taunting penalty of his career during a game against the Texans.
