WWE Hall of Famer Roddy Piperpassed away on July 30, and the reported cause of death at the time was a heart attack.
We now have a bit more information, thanks to the death certificate being obtained by TMZ. And while a heart attack was indeed the cause, it looks like a pulmonary embolism (a blood clot on the lung) is what triggered the fatal incident.
(As an aside, this is why Chris Bosh of the Miami Heat was immediately shut down last season after a similar condition was discovered.)
Piper was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma in 2006, but had said he was cancer free back in November. He was 61 years of age.
