The NFL scored an early win in their court battle with Tom Brady and the NFLPA on Thursday when a judge ruled that the union's lawsuit filed in Minnesota would be moved to New York, where the league's initial complaint was filed.

The NFL is asking the court to confirm their decision to suspend Brady for the first four games of the season for his involvement in what's become known as the Deflategate incident.

"The Court strongly suspects the Union filed in Minnesota because it has obtained favorable rulings from this Court in the past on behalf of its members," Judge Richard Kyle wrote. "Indeed, the Court sees little reason for this action to have been commenced in Minnesota at all. Brady plays for a team in Massachusetts; the Union is headquartered in Washington, D.C.; the NFL is headquartered in New York; the arbitration proceedings took place in New York; and the award was issued in New York."

The union was hoping to get the same Minnesota judge who ruled in its favor in the 2014 appeal of Adrian Peterson's suspension to preside over the Brady case, but that's not happening. They now have two weeks to respond.
