UFC president Dana White has already gone on record as saying that a rematch between Holly Holm and Ronda Rousey would definitely happen, and that UFC 200 in July was when it could possibly take place.

But Holm's trainer wasn't so sure that Rousey would be ready so soon, and perhaps because of that fact, White announced that Holm will put her championship on the line and have another fight before Rousey will get a chance at redemption.

UFC president Dana White announced on Fox Sports 1's "UFC Tonight" that Holm would make a title defense prior to a rematch with Rousey. White offered no details about Holm's next fight on the broadcast and offered no information afterward when questioned by Yahoo Sports.

White had speculated that a rematch between Rousey and Holm could generate two million pay-per-view buys, but would people be as interested in the fight if Holm lost her title before then?

The UFC is hoping it won't have to find out after making what appears to be an incredibly risky decision.
