A referee who was officiating an amateur Brazilian soccer match pulled out a handgun on the pitch after being punched and kicked by one of the team's players.

Gabriel Murta is the official you see with the firearm, and in addition to his gig as a referee, he also happens to be a police officer -- which makes this whole thing seem even more scary.

Murta will reportedly undergo a psychological assessment before he can officiate any games in the future, but no matter the outcome, it's hard to imagine how in the world he would be allowed to do so.
