Lamar Jackson’s time with the Baltimore Ravens appears to have run its course.

The former MVP quarterback took to Twitter on Monday to share a letter with Ravens fans, in which he revealed he requested a trade March 2 due to Baltimore’s unwillingness to pay him what he believes he’s worth.

“I want to first thank you all for all of the love and support you consistently show towards me,” Jackson wrote. “All of you are amazing and I appreciate y’all so much. I want you all to know not to believe everything you read about me. Let me personally answer your questions in regards to my future plans.”

“As of March 2nd I requested a trade from the Ravens organization for which the Ravens has not been interested in meeting my value, any and everyone that’s has met me or been around me know I love the game of football and my dream is to help a team win the super bowl. You all are great but I had to make a business decision that was best for my family and I. No matter how far I go or where my career takes me, I’ll continue to be close to my fans of Baltimore Flock nation and the entire State of Maryland. You’ll See me again.”

Shortly after Lamar shared his thoughts on social media, Ravens head coach John Harbaugh took time to speak with reporters at the NFL’s annual meeting. As seen in the below photo, Harbaugh’s booth was packed with media members looking to find out more details on Lamar’s future with the organization.

Lamar Jackson’s announcement came at the exact time that Ravens’ coach John Harbaugh was set to speak to reporters at the league’s annual meeting.

According to Harbaugh, he plans on entering the season with Lamar as his quarterback, as the Ravens recently placed the nonexclusive franchise tag on Jackson.

“I haven’t seen the tweet,” Harbaugh told reporters. “It’s an ongoing process. I’m following it very closely, just like everybody else is here and looking forward to a resolution. I’m excited. Thinking about Lamar all the time. Thinking about him as our quarterback. We’re building our offense around that idea. I’m just looking forward to getting back to football and I’m confident that’s going to happen.”

Later, Harbaugh admitted that he hasn’t spoken to Lamar in awhile, though he remains hopeful that the two sides will be able to continue a positive long-term relationship.

“Oh, it’s been a while. I mean, you know, it’s going to have to be,” Harbaugh shared. “Like I said, it’s a unique situation, but when we get back together, you know, and I’m really hopeful that happens. That’s what I want to see. You know, it’s going to be great. It’s going to be good.”
