Wow...so shocked and saddened at the passing of Jim Neidhart. Such a great talent and the engine of the Hart Foundation. Sending so much love to @NatbyNature @TJWilson and the Neidhart family ....an incredible loss
Jim Neidhart was exactly what he needed to be as one-half of the Hart Foundation. High-energy, brute force, the powerhouse backing up the technician.

Like many future pro wrestling stars, Neidhart got his start in other sports. His time as a standout high school shot-putter helped him land his iconic nickname. He also briefly played in the NFL with the Oakland Raiders and Dallas Cowboys.

Avil went pro in wrestling in 1979 and joined the WWE in 1985. A star for the WWE in the 1980s and '90s, Anvil headlined two WWE pay-per-views: Survivor Series 1989 and In Your House 16: Canadian Stampede.

The wrestling legend Stu Hart trained Anvil. Anvil and his Hart Foundation team famously feuded with Stone Cold Steve Austin in the '90s.

Anvil later appeared in the WCW in the late '90s.
