The Cowboys won a very hard-fought NFC East game against the Washington Redskins today, 31-26. Tensions were high, and as you would expect, Josh Norman and Dez Bryant—two of the most established trash-talkers in the NFL—butted heads.
The standout players got in each other’s faces and had to be separated after the game. As they were pushed apart, Bryant grabbed Norman by the facemask.
Clearly Norman was frustrated…and clearly Bryant enjoyed rubbing it in.
Shortly after the game, Bryant logged on to Twitter and sent off this fire tweet:
He also participated in a post-game interview and said he wasn't emotional, but Norman was, because Bryant was "wearing his ass out."
Bryant kept the party going with more tweets/retweets about the situation—including one challenge he directed right at Norman.
Can we please have a transcript of everything they said to each other during the game? This is all so good.
He also had some heat for the media.
Bryant is back from injury, he finished this game with five catches for 72 yards, and the Cowboys are 10-1. Clearly he is feeling good about life right now.
Oh, and he takes joy in instigating his rivals. Characters like Bryant are part of what makes football great.
Will he follow through with his promise? We’ll wait and see.
Unfortunately, these teams won’t meet again in the regular season, but there is the possibility of a playoff matchup.
