Having retired from football management in 2017 after impressive spells at clubs like Tottenham Hotspur and turbulanet times at clubs like Birmingham City, Harry Redknapp could be returning to the game, with widespread reports that he is currently being considered as the next manager of the Nigerian national team.

73-year-old Redknapp has never tried his hand at international management, but the Nigerian higherarchy have reviewed their options and have come to the conclusion that he could be the perfect fit for the job. Current manager of the Nigerian national team (also known as the Super Eagles), Gernot Rohr will see his current contract expire at the end of the month, and it's come with plenty of uncertainty over the German's future.

"The feeling is Harry Redknapp will be coming to manage Nigeria soon," a Super Eagles source said. These comments have been made following the former Spurs boss having previously held discussions about the role.

Although these discussions were had back in 2016 (which led to the negotiations breaking down), it is thought that both parties are confident in completing a deal this time around.
