The NBA's first All-Star ballot returns are in, and Luka Dončić and Giannis Antetokounmpo are leading the fan vote. Among the surprises are Dwight Howard, Alex Caruso, Tacko Fall and Carmelo Anthony, none of whom are having All-Star-worthy seasons. At the top of the Western Conference's frontcourt is LeBron James, closely followed by Anthony Davis and Kawhi Leonard, while Melo and Dwight come in at No. 8 and No. 10 respectively.

Fan favorite Caruso made the Western Conference's guard list at No. 8, while the aforementioned Giannis topped the Eastern Conference's frontcourt list at No. 1.

The All-star voting will come to an end on Jan. 20, with the 2020 All-Star Game set to take place on Feb. 16 at the United Center in Chicago. People in the basketball world had plenty to say about the votes so far, with many dismissing the list as a "joke." Alex Caruso, in particular, was a popular topic of discussion after the list debuted.

I don’t know what @IsaacKLee is talking about, Tacko Fall and Alex Caruso should be All-Stars. https://t.co/EUFrnu4j2o

Lol at Tacko Fall and Alex Caruso. But hey. Vote for whoever the hell you want, fans. https://t.co/frbAnpLUpM

A couple early thoughts: 1. Luka (!) 2. Kyrie’s production/demeanor has little correlation to his popularity 3. The front court voting in the West is a glimpse into Laker/Clipper dynamics in L.A. 4. Tacko (!!) pic.twitter.com/bJb3sOSvxi

Tacko Fall is sixth among Eastern Conference frontcourt players in All-Star fan voting. A helpful reminder it is almost impossible for him to make the team, since the media and players also comprise 50 percent of the vote. pic.twitter.com/zdUFbw0JrL

Devin Booker still hasn't played a game in his NBA career beyond November with a winning record and now he's getting fewer All-Star votes than Alex Caruso. pic.twitter.com/oXvPmrA9Yy

Alex Caruso has more votes than Chris Paul and that should tell you a lot about why players want to play in big markets. https://t.co/bziECfc3iF
