The latest edition of one of the world's hottest video game franchises – NBA 2K20 – touches streets on September 6th and with under a month until release, anticipation is at an all-time high.
Always pushing things forward, 2K's latest improvements set the stage for a whole new ball game. For the first time, NBA 2K20 will see all 12 WNBA teams make their debut in the series. Available in Play Now and Season modes, fans of the franchise will be able to take control of their favourite WNBA players for the first time and experience gameplay animations, play styles and visuals built exclusively around the women’s game.
Many of the top WNBA superstars, like Parker and A’ja Wilson of the Las Vegas Aces, have been scanned into NBA 2K20 earlier this year using best-in-class motion capture technology to create the most realistic simulation on the market.
Headlining the latest edition of the game are two of the NBA's biggest names. For the Legend Edition, Three-time NBA Champion, 13-time NBA All-Star, 2008 Olympic gold medalist and 2006 NBA Finals MVP Dwyane Wade steps up – while for the Standard and Deluxe editions, six-time NBA All- Star, three-time All-NBA First Team, three-time NBA All-Defensive Team and 2012 Olympic gold medalist Anthony Davis returns as cover star.
NBA 2K20 is Davis’ first solo cover appearance for the franchise after being featured as part of NBA 2K16’s star-studded cover lineup. In another historic first, Dwayne Wade’s appearance on the NBA 2K20 Legend Edition marks the first time “Flash” has been featured on the cover of NBA 2K.
One of the most exciting moments for any 2K fan in the release cycle is the unveiling of the game's annual soundtrack, an all-star selection of the biggest sounds in street culture right now. For NBA 2K20, the team has delivered another playlist full of bangers.
NBA 2K20 is launching their most expansive soundtrack to date with 50 tracks from artists such as Drake, Meek Mill, Billie Eilish, Post Malone and the late Nipsey Hussle. Alongside the new soundtrack, 2K and UnitedMasters are kicking off a global search to discover the hottest new artists and tracks to be added to the game. From August 1st until September 15th, artists can submit their track using the new UnitedMasters app and it will be evaluated by Steve Stoute, 2K and star-studded celebrity judging panel. The 10 best tracks will be chosen and added to the soundtrack in a later update.
