On this episode of Extreme Makeover: Lakers Edition, it is being reported that Los Angeles wants to continue overhauling their roster by trading away Moe Wagner, Isaac Bonga, and Jemerrio Jones to free up cap space to sign a max free agent.

On Tuesday, Adrian Wojnarowski hit the timeline with one of his patented bombs. According to the ESPN analyst, the Lakers are looking to expand their deal with the Pelicans by offering Moe Wagner, Isaac Bonga, and Jemerrio Jones to additional teams for virtually nothing in return. By doing this, the team hopes to clear cap space so that they can enter free agency with enough room to sign a max player without breaking the collective bargaining agreement.

Lakers are trying to expand Anthony Davis trade and create ability to open max salary slot on July 6, sources tell @BobbyMarks42 and me. Lakers offering contracts of Mo Wagner/Jemerrio Jones/Isaac Bonga to additional teams, so LA can satisfy CBA rules on creating $32M in space.

Yet, for this to work, Anthony Davis must truly buy into the process. Per ESPN's Bobby Marks, to maximize this move Davis would have to waive his $4 million trade bonus. This would allow the Lakers to sign a max player and make the trade official on the same day.

Under this scenario, Davis would need to waive all of his $4M trade bonus to make the money work. If there is a taker(s), LAL could sign 1 or multiple players with $32.5M in room on 7/6 and still make the AD trade on the same day. As of now, Los Angels will have $23.8M in room. https://t.co/uGcfasjGFo

While it appears the Lakers are leaving no stone unturned, the idea of depleting your entire core for three players is not sitting well with their fans. If the Lakers were to just sign one max player, they would have to fill out the rest of the roster with players that only require the league minimum. This creates a lack of depth making their success dependant on the stamina and health of the top of their roster.

After seeing what happened to Golden State during this year's playoff run, critics don't think this is the best way to win a championship.

Lakers said fck a roster Bron, AD, Jason Kidd at point, Frank Vogel better hit that jumper

To make matters worse, this news comes after it was revealed Mo Wagner accidentally liked a tweet that justified the killing of Trayvon Martin.

I’d like to apologize and say I genuinely have no idea how that tweet was liked from my account. I would never purposely like something so terrible, and I’m sorry to anyone I hurt.
