A youth basketball tournament that took place this past week turned chaotic when the wife of ex-NBA player Isaiah Rider got into a fight with another woman. The incident went down during an event at Mesa, Arizona, where Rider was coaching his SkyRiders basketball team, according to TMZ.

According to a police report, Rider's wife, Vanessa, got into a physical altercation with another mom. Isaiah allegedly threatened to get his gun from his car after coming to his wife's aid.

Cops had been called to the tourney after getting reports of parents fighting. Vanessa told them that the other woman involved attacked her for no reason. Vanessa also says that her 9-year-old son was injured after he was physically assaulted by an older boy.

The other woman involved in the skirmish disputed Vanessa's account. She says that Vanessa was mad because the SkyRiders lost to a team that her son was on, and that Vanessa called her a "bitch" and tried to hit her. She maintains that she fought Vanessa back in self-defense. Isaiah then allegedly asked who hit his son before telling his friends to "get his gun out of his car."

The other woman involved in the altercation says Isaiah did leave, but he never returned with his gun.

No one was arrested because cops determined that the women involved were engaging in "mutual combat."

Rider played in the NBA from 1993-2001 for five different teams and held down averages of 16.7 points and 3.8 rebounds.
