According to Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium, the Chicago Bulls have acquired Otto Porter from the Washington Wizards in exchange for Bobby Portis and Jabari Parker. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports that a 2023 second-round pick from the Wizards was also included in the deal.Â
Porter has been going through a down 2018-19 campaign, averaging 12.6 points per game while shooting 45.7 percent from the field, his lowest since the 2014-15 season. Porter is also expected to make $55.7 million over the remaining two years on his current contract. Those two factors alone could lead to Bulls fans wondering what the hell they were thinking by trading for Otto. But the Chicago faithful should hear these people out before hitting the panic button.Â
