Timberwolves guard Andrew Wiggins didn't have the best game on Friday (Dec. 28), but that hasn't stopped him from criticizing his team's fans. Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic reported on Twitter that Wiggins had some words for those who booed him during Minnesota's 123-120 losing effort against the Atlanta Hawks.
Wiggins finished the game with a respectable 16 points but missed two critical foul shots during the final stretch of the game. The Timberwolves fans started to boo him as a result, and he certainly wasn't receptive to the jeers.
"That's fans for you," Wiggins said following the game. "We've got some shitty fans and we've got some good fans. That's just how it works."
The 23-year-old player has been performing below expectations so far this season: His points per game average is currently 16.6, down from the 23.6 two years ago. In fact, the entire team has been a disappointment as well. The Timberwolves are 16-19 and rest five spots outside the top eight.
