Kevin Owens has a dry, specifically Canadian, sense of humor. The smugness comes through easily, as evidenced by his multiple interactions with Renee Young and with Michael Cole. But those two people are also part of the WWE Universe and its fictional continuity. What happens when someone from outside the company tries to start trouble?
Melissa Joan Hart (Clarissa Explains It All, Sabrina the Teenage Witch) is a wrestling fan. And back in 2015, she decided to post this:
Not nice, but not unforgivable. And Owens responded with something similarly insulting, but not too harsh:
"Sorry, I watched one of your shows a few months ago and it put me in a slumber that has been hard to recover from."
That could have been the end of it. But instead, Hart decided to dig the hole deeper by arguing with WWE fans on Twitter. First, she explained that he wasn't athletic. Later, she backpedaled and said that she was criticizing Kevin Owens the character, not Kevin Owens the performer (yeah, right). And in the midst of this all, Owens blocked her, and fellow WWE Superstar Big E. started a hashtag—#IStandWithOwens—for other people to block her as well.
