Earlier today, news broke that Canelo Alvarez signed a $365 million deal—the largest in sports history—partnering with sports streaming service DAZN.
Despite all this money, however, there's one other thing Alvarez wants: A rematch with Floyd Mayweather. Alvarez previously fought with and lost to Mayweather back in 2013, but ever since that fight he's been performing better and better year after year.
"He wants to continue hurting boxing by making fights that don't make sense... and not giving boxing the credibility it deserves," Alvarez told TMZ Sports. "If he wants to return, I ask him to look my way to give a great fight to the fans [...] Let's do the second fight. It's very important. We have something pending there, so let's make the second fight."
A fight between Mayweather and Alvarez would definitely be something DAZN would be interested in, making that huge contract they offered him all the more worth it. Mayweather, of course, has been making headlines again after saying he's down to fight with Khabib Nurmagomedov, who recently beat Conor McGregor in a match that resulted in chaos.
Only time will tell if the Mayweather and Alvarez (or Nurmagomedov and Mayweather) fight will actually come to fruition.
