Pro Bowl Wide Receiver Jarvis Landry Reportedly Traded to Browns

A NFL insider says the Dolphins traded Pro Bowl wide receiever Jarvis Landry to the Browns for two draft picks.

According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, the Dolphins have traded three-time Pro Bowl WR Jarvis Landry to the Browns for a pair of draft picks:

The #Browns quickly emerged as the favorite for WR Jarvis Landry. Now they trade for him in exchange for a pick in 2018 and a pick in 2019. Huge move.

Adam Schefter added that neither draft pick was a first or second-rounder:

Neither of the picks in Jarvis Landry trade are a first- or second-round picks, per sources. So it will be two picks between rounds 3 and 7.

Additionally, Cleveland is also trying to work a new contract for Landry, which is expected to eventually get done. According to ESPN, at least five teams expressed interest in acquiring Landry, including the Ravens and Bears.

The 25-year-old Landry led the NFL in receptions last season with 112. Though his average years per catch wasn't great, he still finished with 987 yards and nine touchdowns. His season was good enough to get him into the Pro Bowl for the third straight year, and he has racked up exactly 400 catches since his pro debut in 2014.

The news was enough to excite current All-Pro Browns wideout Josh Gordon:

I could be the browns QB with Flash & Juice playing receiver! Just throw it up.

I think it’s very likely the Browns win a game this season. Perhaps many.

The idea of Jarvis Landry running underneath Josh Gordon is pretty intriguing, if the Browns can keep Gordon on the field. And Landry should benefit from working with new Cleveland OC Todd Haley.

Do y'all remember how the Browns' season ended? A wide open dude dropped a ball right in his hands to ensure 0-16. I feel like getting Jarvis Landry is probably a good thing. But hey, that's just me.

The @browns — absolutely flooded with cap space — acquire @God_Son80 without touching any of their 1st or 2nd round draft choices. #Heist

If this Jarvis Landry move is a sign of things to come for the Browns get your popcorn and Slim Jims ready. pic.twitter.com/wKSaUJl3wc

So, the Browns have Landry, Gordon, Coleman, lots of $$$, and the opportunity to draft Saquon Barkley.
If I’m Kirk Cousins, I’m taking another look.

Man, the Browns are getting better in a hurry over the past year or so. If they hit on a QB, look out. Will rise like the Jaguars did. #FreeSashi

Almost consensus: Make your Browns jokes while you can.
