LaVar Ball is going to remove his son LaMelo from Chino Hills High School to train him and have him homeschooled over the next two years, according to Eric Sondheimer of the Los Angeles Times. When explaining his decision to pull LaMelo from high school to ESPN's Ramona Shelburne, LaVar unfurled plenty of sharp criticisms directed at Chino Hills head coach Dennis Latimore.
"I'm not dealing with the coach over there. I'm not dealing with the administration over there. I don't want no distractions on Melo. So therefore I'm going to home school him and make him the best basketball player ever," LaVar said. "It's a new coach and I don't like him one bit. He's on track for UCLA, but he doesn't have to be dealing with those knuckleheads. I'm not letting them mess with his head anymore. You can put that on the principle and the coach over there."
Maybe this is what LaMelo wants. Maybe LaVar is acting in his son's best interests. Maybe it doesn't matter what we speculate because, as 'Melo's father, LaVar is going to do whatever he pleases.
