Trying to teach little kids how to play basketball can be stressful. And it can be especially stressful if you take your basketball very seriously and want to see the kids you’re coaching play it the right way.

Just ask the coach in the clip above. He’s in charge of what appears to be a group of five or six-year-olds, and during a recent game, he made every effort to get his team to execute a fast break. But most kids who are that young haven’t learned how to dribble properly yet, much less dribble while running down the court and looking for the easiest route to the basket. So it wasn’t surprising to see one of the players on the coach’s team get the ball, look around, and then start dribbling in the wrong direction. He was well on his way to scoring two points for the other team.

We can guarantee you that all of the parents in the stands (minus maybe the LaVar Balls of the world) were cracking up at the sight of the kid getting ready to shoot at the wrong end of the court. If you’ve ever sat through one of these youth games, it tends to happen at least once every game, and it never gets old. But the boy’s coach didn’t want to see him make the mistake of putting the ball into the wrong hoop. So as the boy inched closer towards the basket, the coach ran out on the court yelling "NOOOOOO!" and blocked the boy’s shot into the first row of the stands.

The clip cuts off there, so we don’t know what happened next. Maybe the coach pulled the boy to the side and explained why he blocked him. Maybe the coach hit him with the Dikembe Mutombo finger wag and walked back to the bench.

Either way, we doubt that kid’s going to make the same mistake again. Now that is what we call coaching.
