Kobe Bryant Is Retired and Still Showed Up at Work Earlier Than You Did This Morning

Working out early to get to "the office" by 8:30...for whatever reason.

Late last night I saw this tweet, and I thought it was a big joke:

I'm told there were plans for a post-game party for Kobe and team to celebrate his career. But won't happen. Kobe waking up early for work

And then I remembered Kobe Bryant got to where he is because he's obsessive and possibly psychotic. And so I guess it should come as no surprise, to any of us, that he was working out in the early hours when millions of other people were late (ironically) because they stayed up to watch him play:

Kobe being Kobe. A few of us were told Kobe got his early workout in today and reported to the office at 8:30 a.m. today.

This is pretty much what anyone should expect from the (now) ex-Laker. In fact there's nothing baffling about this scenario. Well except for what "work" is in this context.

What the hell does retirement mean exactly?
