Following in the footsteps of Chris Borland and Husain Abdullah, 23-year-old Buffalo Bills linebacker A.J. Tarpley is retiring from a life impacted by head-on collisions by retiring from the NFL after just one year. Tarpley made the announcement on his IG account, after saying that he suffered the "third and fourth" concussions of his career this past season:
Tarpley, an undrafted rookie out of Stanford, played in 15 games last season, starting two. He also finished his pro career going out on top, not by winning the Super Bowl, but by picking off a pass in the last drive of the last game of the season to prevent the Jets from making the playoffs.
Due to his decision yesterday there's a chance he'll still remember that 20 years down the road.
