Saturday night's A-League action was not without controversy, as a referee decision voided a crucial late goal.

Referee Jarred Gillett called back a 77th-minute free kick, which had lead to a goal for the Western Sydney Wanderers. Fuming after the unusual decision, several Wanderers players stormed Gillett, who stuck to his decision despite the demonstrative display by the fired-up footballers.

While his teammates argued with the official, Wanderers defender Scott Jamieson let his hands do some wandering of their own, as he slid alongside Melbourne City's Jason Trifiro for two quick grabs at his opponent's groin.

Why Australian athletes resort to squirrel-gripping we will never truly know, but if Jamieson thought this was the sort of thing that might lead to a victory, his peen-pinching was unfortunately all in vain. City took this one out 3-2.
