Chris Eubank Jr just gave the world a lesson in how to respond to racist abuse online with real dignity.

The WBA interim middleweight world champion – and son of one of Britain's boxing legends – posted a screenshot of a message he received from a troll via Facebook and instead of snapping back with vitriol (which would have been justified), he decided to school the offender on how to treat others.

Eubank Jr gave the troll some much needed advice.

The most worrying aspect of all this is that the troll looked like a very young teenager, which is why we've blanked out his face.

Let's hope the message gets through and that Eubank Jr – and countless other successful athletes from minority backgrounds – aren't subjected to this abuse time and time again.
