Would Money Mayweather really go this route?

Most people who spent $99.99 to order the Floyd Mayweather/Manny Pacquiao fight on May 2 are still kicking themselves for doing it. The fight was OK, but it didn't turn out to be the must-see TV event that everyone thought it'd be. So those people will be happy to learn that Mayweather's next (and last!) fight might cost…nothing.

According to CBS Sports, Mayweather is seriously thinking about holding his 49th professional fight on CBS instead of pay-per-view. That would mean that just about everyone with a TV could watch it without having to shell out $50 or $100 to do it. An announcement pertaining to the fight is expected to be made sometime soon and could come as early as the end of this week.

Mayweather doesn't have an opponent picked out just yet, but if he finishes his career with a fight on free TV, it could provide a big boost for the sport of boxing and send him out on top in front of the entire country. Stay tuned.
