The prosecution in Aaron Hernandez's trial really wants his fiancée Shayanna Jenkins to testify against him. Back in early February, they even agreed to give her immunity in exchange for her testimony. And while it's still unclear whether or not she's going to agree to cooperate with the prosecution, the testimony of her own babysitter might end up forcing her to do it.
Earlier today, the babysitter—a 28-year-old woman named Jennifer Fortier who was watching Hernandez and Jenkins' daughter on the night that Odin Lloyd was murdered—was asked about everything from her relationship with Hernandez and Jenkins to her recollection of the night that Lloyd was killed. She talked about that evening while prosecutors used surveillance video to paint a picture of how they believe it played out.
But Fortier also revealed that, just two days prior to Lloyd's murder, her and a friend ran into Hernandez and Lloyd during a night out in Boston. And she claims that Hernandez took her back to an apartment—a.k.a. "flop house"—that he rented in Franklin, Mass. against her will before smoking weed with Lloyd and then trying to kiss her:
Obviously, Hernandez trying to kiss Fortier doesn't have anything to do with Lloyd's murder. But it very well could result in Jenkins taking the stand against him:
It's another strange wrinkle in what is quickly becoming a very weird trial. What in the world are we going to find out about Hernandez next?
