When opportunity knocks, you better answer—even when it puts you in impossible-ass situations like the one Joe Soto got caught up in with UFC 177Renan Barao fainted hours before the weigh-in and withdrew from the bantamweight fight. This gave former Bellator champion Joe Soto a chance to step up to face TJ Dillashaw for the championship just hours before the match on Saturday night. Of course, he stepped up like the game fighter he is.

Soto definitely held his own, too. The 27-year-old lasted until late in the fifth round. Unfortunately, he fell thanks to something that would make pretty much any regular person fall: A hard right kick to the dome. Soto fell accordingly and the referee called the match soon after.
