A word to the wise: If you're going to rob a bank, leave your kids out of it!

On Monday morning, a 21-year-old woman named Sarah Crosby made the mistake of robbing a bank in Laurel, Del. before fleeing with her 4-year-old son in the getaway car. She walked into the bank, demanded an unknown amount of money, and then ran outside and took off in a white Chevrolet Lumina with her son in the car. But she had absolutely no chance of making a clean getaway. A handful of witnesses gave cops a description of her car, allowing them to give chase immediately. And while she tried to outrun them—and even made it all the way to Maryland before they caught up—they eventually found her, forced her to stop by using spike strips, and then placed her under arrest after finding money from the bank inside of her car. She was charged with bank robbery and was also hit with an endangering the welfare of a child charge because her son was in the car with her the whole time.

The good news is that the young boy was not injured in the police chase and was eventually placed into the care of Maryland Child Protective Services. But what the woman did was incredibly dumb and could have ended in tragedy. So we don't expect a judge to have any mercy on her when she eventually has her day in court.
