The 2014 college football season cannot start quickly enough for Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston. Because every time he's turned around since the end of last season, it's felt like he's faced another scandal. From his well-publicized sexual assault case to the now-infamous incident involving him shoplifting crab legs, the negative headlines haven't stopped for the reigning Heisman Trophy winner. And now, Winston is facing yet another one.

USA TODAY Sports is reporting that, back in 2012, Winston and his teammate Chris Casher were handcuffed by police at gunpoint after someone contacted the FSU police and told them that they had seen two men carrying what appeared to be handguns on a bike trail near the school. The guns in question turned out to be pellet guns—which Winston said the two men were using to shoot at squirrels—and the Seminoles players were not placed under arrest. However, just a few hours later, the two men were allegedly involved in a BB gun "battle" that resulted in a significant amount of damage to their apartment building.

The BB gun incident has already been reported on in the past. But obviously, now that we know that Winston had been stopped by police just a few hours prior to it taking place, it makes the entire situation look even worse than it already did. And it's further proof that Winston has not always made the best decisions off the football field.

Winston has not spoken out about this latest piece of news yet. But with the FSU season about a month away now, you can be sure that he will be asked early and often about this incident and all of the others as well. So stay tuned for more info on this latest report.
