If motorsport truly is the best proving ground, consider Jaguar’s new F-Type Project 7 to top the pile of worthy challengers. Jaaaag has confirmed that Project 7 will make its driving debut in front of fans at this weekend’s Le Mans Classic race, and although the car will just be performing demonstration laps on the circuit, it’s hard to imagine why it wouldn’t blitz the entire glitzy field anyway.
The lightweight two-seat roadster adds carbon fiber aerodynamic tweaks, a hardcore suspension setup, as well as 176 pounds shaved in total weight to the F-Type package. Oh yeah, the supercharged 5.0L V8 has been jacked up to 570-horsepower and 502 lb-ft of torque.
Interestingly enough, Jaguar noted that consumer interest for the halo car’s initial reception at Goodwood far exceeded its maximum production of 250 units. We can only hope they build more.
