If you plan to be an NBA coach, you'd better get your applications in quick because positions are going fast. Last night it was Stan Van Gundy to the Pistons, tonight it's Steve Kerr to the Warriors. The news breaks after many rumor mills had Steve Kerr as the next head coach of the New York Knicks. Kerr's move to the Big Apple was reportedly held up over contract length. As it is, Golden State will be the first head coaching job for the former NBA champ and General Manager. The deal is reportedly around 5 years/$25 million.
Update: Apparently Kerr chose the Warriors because they were on the West Coast and he wanted to be closer to his San Diego home. Though he preferred Golden State all along, the decision was difficult because of his relationship with Knicks President Phil Jackson.
