For years the joke of the brown wagon with a diesel V8 and a manual transmission being the dream car of every automotive journalist has been making the round on the net, and it looks like the time is finally coming for that car to come to pass. Amazingly, this car is even going to be sold in the USA.
This is the Trident Iceni, and it's designed to be an eco-friendly diesel sports car that will come as a coupe, roadster, or hatchback. The base model, which will probably start between $110,000 and $135,000, comes with a 395 hp and 700 lb-ft of torque engine that enables a 3.7 second 0-60 time and a top speed of 190 mph, or a bonkers 660 hp and 1,050 lb-ft of torque power-plant that will probably tear California off of the USA so it can go chill with Hawaii, as was predicted in the early days of the internet. The smaller powerplant allows the Iceni to cruise on the highway at only 980 rpms for more than 2,000 miles before fill-ups. Yeah, you could go from New York to Santa Fe without ever stopping at a gas station.
