Stephen Jackson wants you to know something about NBA players: They aren't all BFFs.

For example, he's not friends with Steve Francis. He doesn't hang out with him. He doesn't pop bottles with him. And he damn sure doesn't know him well enough for Francis to talk slick to him. So according to him, that is why he got into an altercation with Francis at a club recently that almost turned violent. Jackson was paid to perform at the club that night, and Francis kept bothering him during his performance.

"We wasn't never cool," Jackson told Bomani Jones and Dan LeBatard on ESPN's Highly Questionable recently. "I don't hang with him. I don't call him. We've never been in the same circles. It was too packed for me to get to the stage. So I go to the DJ booth…and as soon as I start rapping, he jumps on the back of the DJ booth. I don't know why he jumped there. He bumped me two times with his midsection. I felt his belt on my neck. So the third time he does it…I turn around and I ask him to get down. He said something crazy, one thing led to another, my hand ends up on his throat and next things he's in cuffs."

You can see Jackson's full explanation in the clip above. The "fight" between Jackson and Francis was actually pretty tame. But his explanation of why it happened is awesome.
