Well, here it is. After two decades, David Beckham's extraordinary career finally came to a close when he was substituted out in the 81st minute of Paris St-Germain's game against Brest. The crowd—which included former French President Nicolas Sarkozy—cheered, his teammates embraced him, and tears were shed.
Beckham had this moment in his mind during the game. He said, "It started about 20 minutes before that, to be honest. I started thinking and then, you know, I couldn't concentrate by then, and it was difficult. You know, you try to hold the emotion back because it is what it is, but it's difficult."
