The yearly tradition of New York City's Five Boro Bike Tour, an event that began with 250 participants and today sees over 30,000 riders following the tour's route across the city, celebrates it's 35th year this year. The first Sunday of every May registered cyclists can ride expressways and bridges that are normally closed to bike traffic, last year selling out in within 24 hours. This year, due to the overwhelming number of riders registered previously, the organizers are introducing a lottery system to give more people a chance to take part in the event. Check out the official site for more details on the tour and to enter the lottery to ride.
