17. Smoky Burgess

Years Active: 1949-1967

Team(s): Pirates, Redlegs, Phillies, White Sox, Cubs

Playing Weight: 185 lbs.

A six-time All-Star, Burgess won a World Series with Pittsburgh in 1960 and was one of the best catchers of his generation. He eventually transitioned into pinch-hitting duties (the rest home for fat ballplayers), but comported himself well in the task, retiring with the all-time pinch hit record.
